Integration Overview

Outreach in Clay allows users to create, update, and lookup prospects, as well as add leads to sequences, streamlining sales outreach efforts.

For the Clay and Outreach integration, here’s a breakdown of the actions available:

  1. Create Prospect: Add new prospects directly to Outreach
  2. Update Prospect: Modify existing prospect information to keep Outreach data up-to-date.
  3. Lookup Prospect: Search for specific prospects in Outreach based on email or prospect ID
  4. Add to Sequence: Enroll prospects in sequences
  5. Lookup Mailbox by Email Address: Find mailbox ID for a given address in Outreach

Requirements for Setting Up Outreach

Connect Salesloft with Clay via SSO

You can add your Outreach account to Clay via any Outreach enrichment panel.

To add your Outreach account to Clay, you will need to log on via an SSO portal.

Set up Sequence within Outreach

To add leads to a Sequence directly from Clay you will need to have an existing Sequence. This must be done directly within Outreach. Refer to Outreach’s documentation if you need more help.

Outreach use cases

There are a few important callouts

  • If you want to push personalized snippets to Outreach, please make sure to use custom variables within your enrichment
  • Ensure you are mapping out all fields like first name, last name and email correctly

Action: Create Prospect

Step 1: Select the Create Prospect action

Step 2: Enter the required and optional contact information for the lead

Step 3: Insert Custom Fields

Please note this step if you are inserting custom variables. This can include summaries, AI snippets, and other custom fields within Outreach.

Make sure your custom variables directly match the ones you have specified in Outreach.

Step 4: Configure run settings

Specify Auto-update and Conditional run statements.

Action: Update Prospect

Step 1: Select the Update Prospect action

Step 2: Enter unique identifying information for the prospect you are updating

You can also provide multiple email addresses separated by commas. Emails added here will be added to the list of emails that already exist for the prospect.

Step 3: Map out the data you want to update

Enter the contact information of the lead you want to update

If you want to add any additional information to the contacts you are updating you can map out the dynamic fields as inputs.

Step 4: Insert Custom Fields

Please note this step if you are inserting custom variables. This can include summaries, AI snippets, and other custom fields within Outreach.

Make sure your custom variables directly match the ones you have specified in Outreach.

Step 5: Configure run settings

Specify Auto-update and Conditional run statements.

Action: Lookup Prospect

Step 1: Select the Lookup Prospect action

Step 2: Enter the Prospect unique identifiers

Step 3: Configure run settings

Specify Auto-update and Conditional run statements.

Action: Add to Sequence

Step 1: Select the Add to Sequence action

Step 2: Specify the Prospect ID, Sequence ID, and Mailbox ID

Step 3: Configure run settings

Specify Auto-update and Conditional run statements.
