Before we begin

Crossbeam is the first and largest Ecosystem Revenue Platform, trusted by over 30,000 companies to attract, convert, and grow customer relationships through their partner ecosystems.

And, more recently, one of Clay’s newest integration partners.

In this Claybook, we’re going to show you how to import overlapping accounts with partners using Crossbeam, enrich and qualify those accounts with Clay, and automate a personalized email using Outreach.

Step 1:

Copy this template

If you’re already a user, you’ll be directed to your workspace. If not, you’ll be prompted to create a free Clay account.

The interactive demos on the right will walk you through each step of this Claybook.

Step 3:

Connect Salesforce (or other CRM)

To pull in account details of imported accounts, connect to your Salesforce account in column 8. Then, to import the individual contacts within those accounts, do the same in column 16.

Note: You’ll need to connect Salesforce again twice in table two (columns 4 and 9).

If you don’t use Salesforce, replace this column with a lookup column for your CRM (e.g. Hubspot, Pipedrive, etc.).

Step 4:

Write to second table

Next, we’re going to move account contacts and additional column data to a second table to write and send personalized emails.

In the last column, customize the contact and table data you want to move to the second table.

Step 5:

Customize formulas and prompts

Next, tailor any formulas or message prompts to fit your business needs.

  • Promotion category (column 15, table 1): This formula labels accounts as either joint customers (us and our partner), high-intent Clay accounts who are customers of our partner, or high-intent partner accounts who are Clay customers
  • Email subject line (column 14, table 2): The subject line of your outbound email
  • Email body (column 15, table 2): The body content of the email, including conditional messaging

Step 6:

Connect to Outreach (or other sequencer)

Last, to push data to Outreach and send emails, connect the following columns in table 2:

  • Lookup prospect (column 16): Find out if the contact exists in Outreach already
  • Update prospect (column 18): Update the contact with email subject line and body fields
  • Lookup mailbox (column 19): Find the reps mailbox who owns the account so you can send emails from the correct rep
  • Add to sequence (column 21): Select the sequence in Outreach to add contacts and messages to

Note: Don’t use Outreach? You can run the same workflow with a different sequencer like Salesloft, too.
