Pull Gong transcripts into Clay, use AI to find specific information, then route that information to the right teams via Slack.
It’s 2025, and if your Zoom meetings aren’t teaming with personal AI notetakers for every attendee, you probably don’t live on Earth.
Though notetakers provide time-saving call summaries, they don’t find specific information upon request. Not without dropping your call transcripts into a GPT.
Good news: In this Claybook, you can use AI to search Gong call transcripts from prospects and customers for anything you want—automtically and in real time.
For example, say you want to identify the specific jobs-to-be-done your prospects mention on sales calls. Or say you want to identify the specific product features customers request most. This Claybook will help you do it.
How it works:
First, copy this template in Clay.
If you’re already a user, you’ll be directed to your workspace. If not, you’ll be prompted to create a free Clay account.
The interactive demos on the right will walk you through each step of this Claybook.
Next, import Gong call IDs into the table by pasting your Clay webhook URL into a new rule in Gong. To create a webhook action in Gong, follow the instructions here.
To retrieve call data, details, and transcripts for every call, connect to Gong’s API using Clay’s HTTP API feature.
Out-of-the-box, AI will analyze call transcripts two different ways:
If you want to ask ChatGPT to find different information, edit the ChatGPT prompts here.
Last, connect to Slack to send specific information to specific Slack channels for visibility.
In this table template, we send our AI-generated summaries to two different channels. You can do the same. For example, send product updates to the product team and customer issues to the customer success team.
Start automating specific and immediate feedback to the right teams.
Simply copy this template, follow the steps above, and let Clay work its magic.
