Before we begin

This Claybook will help you create a list of target accounts using Google Maps as your source. Once you pull listings from specific regions and industries into Clay, Clay will find the owners of those companies and their work emails.

From there, opportunities abound: prospect into each account immediately, add additional enrichment columns to your table, use Clay’s AI to draft outbound emails for you. The list goes on.

How it works:

  • Add a list of cities you want to find businesses in
  • Select the industry you want to zoom in on
  • Use Serper.dev to pull Google Maps listings of those businesses into Clay
  • Use Claygent, Clay’s AI web researcher, to find the owners of those businesses
  • Use Clay’s waterfall enrichment to find their work emails

Step 2:

Connect to Serper API

Step 3:

Add cities and business industries

Next, add a list of the cities you want to search within and select the specific industries you want to search for. In our example, we’re searching for every city featured in LinkedIn. Once added, run the columns.

Note: This table will write data to three additional tables for further enrichment. Why three? So no one table exceeds 50,000 rows if you want to scale searches.

Step 4:

Customize AI prompts (optional)

Next, Claygent (Clay’s AI web researcher) will use the website domain from Google Maps to find the company owner, then run a waterfall enrichment to find their work email. If you want Claygent to find someone else at the company other than the owner, edit the prompt.

Note: Not all Google Maps businesses have a website, in which case the enrichment won’t run for these specific rows.
