Welcome to your next lesson in mastering Clay: Adding Contacts to Your CRM. Today's session is pivotal for maintaining a lean, mean, customer relationship machine. Without proper CRM hygiene, your sales efforts could be as effective as shouting into the void. Let's explore how to keep your CRM spotless with best practices for adding new data.
This guide will walk you through the straightforward yet crucial steps of cross-verifying and injecting fresh contacts into HubSpot via Clay. Whether you’re dealing with HubSpot, Salesforce, or another system, this CRM course will ensure your database is an ally, not an albatross, in your marketing strategies.
✅ First, Check Your CRM Before You Update Data
Before you add contacts to your CRM, make sure you're not duplicating efforts. It's all about checking twice and entering once!
Before a single byte of new data enters your CRM, validate its newness. A cluttered CRM is the path to customer service chaos. We’ll lookup records to see if we’re adding truly net new data before doing anything crazy.
Utilize email as the primary beacon to identify contact uniqueness within your CRM, ensuring a clear signal amidst the noise. If you have other unique identifiers like LinkedIn profile, or Name + Company, make use of those as well.
➕ Conditionally Add Net New Contacts
Once we’ve double checked to see if a contact exists, we’ll make use of AI formulas + conditional runs to only update the contacts that we know for certain are net new - preventing us from clogging up the CRM with messy duplicate data.
There you have it, CRM wizards-in-training. With these best practices, you're now equipped to ensure that your CRM remains an enchanted forest of opportunities, not a dreaded swamp of duplicates. Use your newfound skills wisely as you weave through the databases. Now, go forth and keep that CRM spellbindingly spotless!
In the ever-evolving landscape of data management, importing information from your Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system into Clay can be a game-changer for your workflow. Let's dive into how we at Clay have simplified this process, making it more efficient and user-friendly than ever before.
