When Marty Kausas first became interested in Clay, he would use it to enrich the profiles of new sign-ups to his company Pylon, which is currently revolutionizing customer success. However, while playing with Clay’s other features, he stumbled upon an integration that completely changed the way his company operates. This table in Clay now saves him 30 minutes a day of tedious work.
What is that feature, you ask? It might not be what you expect: a sign-up flow that automatically checks for and uploads new contacts to Salesforce.
“I actually cannot live without this anymore.”
While Clay is mostly known for its contact enrichments, we also have some amazing native export options:
Marty decided to switch his entire customer onboarding flow to Clay. The way he explains it, the experience was apples to oranges.
Before, I would have to first make a new account, input details for that, then do the same thing for a new opportunity, input details for that, then create a contact, then add the contact to the opportunity, and that’s without checking if the contact was already in SalesForce.
Now, Clay does all of that for him in seconds. Here’s the process:
- A customer books a demo on his website
- A Zapier x Webhooks automation brings the record into a Clay table
- An Enrich Company integration auto-runs when the new record is populated, giving Marty hundreds of data points about the new demo prospect.
- A Salesforce integration in Clay checks to make sure the prospect isn’t already in the system.
- If they aren’t, a new contact is created in Salesforce which auto-populates with data points pre-set by Marty.
“The fact that this checks salesforce and creates a record when its not there… I would not be able to do this automatically without Clay”
Suddenly, a tedious 30 minute task that Marty would repeat every day has been automated down to a few seconds of work.
That isn’t everything he’s done with Clay, either. He’s also created a lead list of 17,000+ contacts, scores/qualifies them using keywords found in the company’s website, and more.
We love seeing cases like this- people discovering Clay, starting to use it to solve a problem, and then realizing its true capabilities.
