Twain Overview
The Twain integration allows you to create personalized sales emails based on specific prospect details and signals, enhancing your outreach with tailored messaging.
Setting up Twain and Clay integration
You can connect and pay for Twain-generated emails in two options
- Clay-managed account: Utilize your Clay Credits to pay for email, utilizing the credits available in your Clay account.
- (Only available to paid Clay users) Twain account via API key: Use your Twain account credits by integrating your API key into Clay. To access your Captions API key, you’ll need to be on a Twain pro plan and should contact Twain’s support team at support@usetwain.com or via chat to receive your individual API key.
How to use Twain with Clay
With Twain’s Write Sales Emails action, you can generate customized sales emails for your prospects using provided details and context.
Step 1: Select Twain action
You can access the Twain integration through the search panel.
Step 2: Choose your Twain account
You can use either a Clay-managed or personal account. Refer to the section above on how to set up your Twain account within Clay.
Step 3: Determine email inputs
While each input is optional, providing more details will enhance the personalization and effectiveness of your sales email.
- Prospect Information (Optional): Add personal details, such as the prospect’s title, company, or other enriched facts to tailor the email.
- Trigger / Signal (Optional): Describe the trigger or reason for outreach, such as a recent post or relevant event, to provide context for the message.
- Prospect Name (Optional): Enter the prospect’s name. The email will automatically use their first name.
- Company Name (Optional): Include the name of the prospect’s company.
- Ideal Customer Profile (Optional): Define the characteristics of your target customer to ensure relevant messaging.
- Problem Statement (Optional): Explain the challenge this customer might be facing, such as cybersecurity concerns for fintech companies.
- Solution Description (Optional): Outline how your product or service addresses the customer’s problem.
- Results / Social Proof (Optional): Add any proven results or testimonials, highlighting the success of similar clients.
- Additional Instructions (Optional): Provide specific guidelines, such as language preferences or regional details.
Step 4: Configure run settings
Auto-update: Twain will automatically enrich any new rows that get added to the table. Learn more about auto-update in this this brief guide.
Conditional runs: To run enrichment only under specific conditions, use formulas that trigger the column when the formula is true. See this Clay University lesson.
Step 5: Add the Response as a column
Toggle on Response to add the link as a column. If the toggle is not on, you can add the column when referencing the enrichment row.
